Mario drafts and prosecutes patent applications in various technical fields, including computer software and hardware.

Prior to joining Colby Nipper, Mario practiced as an intellectual property litigation attorney.  His practice focused on complex patent litigation and post-grant proceedings, in which he successfully represented clients in federal district court litigation, on appeal before the Federal Circuit, and in inter partes reviews (IPRs) before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.  Mario’s litigation experience includes case preparation, discovery, expert preparation, claim construction, trial preparation, dispositive motion practice, trial, post-trial briefing, and appeal.  After law school, Mario clerked for the Supreme Court of Alaska.

Mario has extensive patent experience with a wide range of technology areas, including communication standards, computer and telecommunication networks, oil well site technologies, medical devices, digital and analog circuits, software and hardware for mobile devices, virtual reality hardware, and peer-to-peer networks.
